Manuscript Document Signed, 1p. folio, Bourbon County, Kentucky, signed by twenty-six (26) prominent men of the county, including three Clays, "W.G. Clay", "S.H. Clay" and "H. Clay Jr.". It reads: "...We the undersigned petitioners to the Bourbon County Court that you employ and appoint Franklin Hutchinson as patrol for Bourbon County for the ensuing year, and that you extend his time of service from one to three hundred hours per month, which will give him time to attend to the Negro Whiskey Shops and trading establishments, big meetings and public gatherings throughout the county..." VG. Unusual.
