Autograph Letter Signed, “MacLean Marrs Co.” 1p. quarto, London, September 6, 1862, with integral address to Messrs. Archer & Bull of New York, with sea postage rate stamps and postal markings. The letter concerns commodities offered by Marrs on behalf of Archer & Bull, and mentions “Of our flour our Liverpool friends advise the sale of 1354 barrels ex-Antartic at 23/6 per 196 lbs...” VG. The Antartic was a known Blockade Runner and the flour mentioned more than likely came from a southern port and the proceeds used to fund the war for the South.
