Confederate enlistment Document Signed, “Wm J. Magill Capt. 1st Regt.” 1p. quarto, March 19, 1861, Marietta, Georgia, being an enlistment for Curtis J. Hill of Cobb County, Georgia, who acknowledges taht he is a voluntary enlistee in “the ARMY of the STATE OF GEORGIA, to serve for the period of THREE YEARS..” VG. Framed. William Magill would rise to the rank of Colonel and would lose an arm to amputation after being wounded at Sharpsburg.
