JOHNSON, Bradley T. (1829-1903). Confederate Brigadier General Bradley Johnson of Maryland served at Manassas, the Seven Days Battles, under Jackson in the Valley, and later with the irascible Jubal Early. Johnson is credited with halting Dahlgren's thrust at Richmond and had his own scheme to free the Confederate prisoners at Point Lookout. After the war Johnson practiced law in Richmond and Baltimore. Archive of 16 miscellaneous legal documents in Johnson's hand, ca. 1870's and 1880's. These papers carry five full signatures reading "Bradley T. Johnson" and the initials "B.T.J." twice. Aging, light stains. Overall VG condition.
