Autograph Letter Signed, “William McAdams” 6p. (4 folio &2 quarto) September 26, 1861, Jefferson City, Missouri, and reads in part: “...Lieut Anthony received a telegraphic dispatch from Capt. Taylor telling us to meet our company at the foot of Olive Street, St. Louis at seven oclcok on teh Steam boat H.D. Bacon...When you hear persons talking about the enemy being short of Provisions you may not credit such chat very much...we have had faint rumors and accounts of a battle between Stonewall Jackson & Gen Pope but the matter is still a mystery...” Good.
