Autograph Letter Signed, “Lewis Jones” 40th Ohio Vols, 1-1/2p. octavo, Camp Nick-O-Jack Cave, Georgia, January 17, 1864, with cover addressed to Capt. Milton Kemper in Franklin, Tennessee, this letter with hilarous content reads: “...Sir: You told us all to kiss your ass in David Brown’s letter, and I am back to the company again, and I send you my picture to give you a chance to kiss my Royal Bengal, Miltary Cracked, Shanked, Red, Tired Convalescent Damned Ass. I am well and hearty and have been in one fight since I got back, and that was the fight at Lookout Mountain and got out safe and sound. Now Captain I would like to see you back to your company again. We have got good quarters here and the last that I seen of your famiy, they were all well...direct your letters to Bridgeport, Ala, Co I 40th Regt. OVI...” with illustration of a bent over Jones exposing his backside to Captain Kemper. About VG.
