Autograph Letter Signed, “MH Chrysler Col” 1p. quarto, Head Quarters 2nd New York Veteran Cavalry, Louisiana, November 1, 1864, in part: “...Nearly all the tents are entirely worthless a great many of them were so at the time they were issued to my command every possible effort has been made to procure tents of any descriptions to properly shelter the men...I am losing my Regt. at a rapid rate owing to exposure, 22 recruits arrived today I have no place to put them...” With lengthy endoresement by General George Francis MCGINNIS (1826-1910) as brigadier general commanding.
