A great war-date CDV, ca. 1863, depicting a highly detailed "Squirrel Hunter" discharge that shows an older man loading a musket in preparation of shooting a squirrel that is perched on a tree limb. On the verso is a photographer's imprint by Carter & Bancroft, Springfield, Ohio. Rounded corners affecting the mount only, else near fine.
