Mason U.S.A., You, having faithfully sustained the honor of the State of New Hampshire as a Volunteer in her forces raised to suppress the late Rebellion, to enforce the laws of the United States, to maintain the supremacy of the Constitution, and a Republican form of Government, and having received an honorable discharge. Now therefore I Frederick Smyth Governor of the State and Commander in Chief of its Military Forces in the name of the people, present you with this well earned Testimonial of their appreciation of your patriotism, fidelity, courage, and suffering in their cause...” Excellent soldier vignettes along margins.
