Extremley rare carte de visite of a Negro 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Colored Troops. This superb image shows a stocky Union Sergeant in full uniform with his sword drawn, wearing his kepi, and hiaving his cartridge box and a large sash hanging from his belt. Fine clarity, highly detailed, some light rubbing at mount, else Fine. Rarley does one encounter black Civil War officer CDV’s, especially full standing examples such as this.
