Sterling silver tray, 12" diameter, ca. 1944. The face of this substantial silver tray is engraved TO THE SKIPPER FROM THE WARDROOM U.S.S. AULICK OCTOBER...1942 TO MARCH......1944. The Aulick, a destroyer, was commissioned on October 27, 1942 and first captained by Lt. Commander O.P. Thomas, Jr. Serving in the Pacific throughout WWII, the Aulick emerged from the war with five battle stars. VF condition.
