Manuscript ledger book, approximately 200 pages, folio, 1796-1798, Boston, Massachusetts. The first third of this leather-bound ledger records goods and services provided to merchantmen in Boston. Foodstuffs, rum, water, cloth, and hardware are meticulously listed along with prices, often in both pounds and dollars. Captains and ships are invariably named, however the chandler remains anonymous. Aging with water stains with some pages missing. Overall Good condition.
