Samuel Collins was a major manufacturer and distributor of axes at a time when the implement was a critical element of frontier expansion and everyday use. These detailed letters from his field representatives describe their efforts to market his product in places such as Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, and Alabama. By naming competitors, prospects, and buyers encountered, the writers of this correspondence provide a travelogue through Jacksonian America. Light aging and folds. Overall Fine condition.
