Born a Georgian in 1868, Judge Ellis C. May of Inverness, Florida was a businessman, politician, attorney, and author. May's 1953 book, Gators, Skeeters and Malary, recalled his youth in a largely untamed Flordia that had long since vanished. Archive of approximately 150 mostly typed one-page letters to May, quarto, 1950's, various locations. The vast bulk of these letters are in response to May's literary efforts. They are from all over the United States, with many being typed on business letterheads. Included, too, are a few copies of May's replies. Aging with small splits and some chipping. Overall VG condition.
