ROOSEVELT, Edith (1861-1948) 1st Lady, wife of Theodore Roosevelt. Autograph Letter Signed, “Edith Kermit Roosevelt” 2p. octavo, March 6, 1922, “at Sea”, with cover addressed in her hadn to E.Q. Van Valkenburg in Philadelphia, bearing a franking by Roosevelt. The letter reads in part: “...You will know what happiness the meetings of January sixth mean to me- to live the days ahead....I wish we could have kept Mr Abbott’s speech; after all it is in our hearts...” Fine.
