STARR, Amory Reily (1847-1906) Texan who as a sixteen year old ran away four times to join the Confederate service. Finally on July 4, 1864, he was allowed to serve as a private scout in Company H of Colonel William Hardeman’s 4th Texas Cavarly. After the war he was instrumental in organizing ‘White Power’ during Reconstruction. Signed Photograph “Your sincere friend Amory R. Starr” being a fine cabinet card by A.L.
