1772, Pennsylvania. One Shilling note issued by Pennsylvania and signed by JOHN MORTON (c. 1724 - 1777), Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania and Public official. Black.. These notes were made legal tender by an Act of April 3, 1772. The note is somewhat faded and split. It was subsequently mounted to another sheet. As such, it represents an opportunity for the budget conscious collector to acquire the important figure on a note.
