A complete and authentic issue of the Anti-Slavery Bugle, Salem, Ohio, May 15, 1846, 4pp., tissue repaired splits, else VG. This issue is from the first year of the Bugle which carries the slogan “No Union With Slaveholders.” Nearly the entire issue is taken with slavery including a front page article “The Barque Pons & The Slave Trade,” covering a slave ship capture. Another, “Bankers – Slaveholders – Hypocrites” covers the report of an Ohio Slave. Scarce title.
