Framed sepia photograph, 22” x 13-1/2” in modern frame. Fine. the image shows a cotton harvest, Wilson Plantation, Arkansas., “No. 1524. Copyright Coovert, Memphis 1928.” It shows four women in the acres of cotton, bent over and picking. J.C. Coovert, (1864-1937 was known as the "Dean of Memphis Photographers", almost single-handedly, an iconography of the Cotton South that traveled throughout the world, through the channels of cotton commerce and popular culture.
