Hockaday" to his daughter Eva, 3pp, July 27, 1860, in part "John and Martha were not honored with a bidding to the Presidents Wedding, as you suppose that was much disappointed. I don't think Jno cared but was rather but was rather gratified at the neglect, he rather lay the slight at the President's door. We think he is vicious and resentful & ungrateful , we ask him for favor & and shall grant him none for the future, he is no favorite ..."
