A salesman sample of a commercial pot, 2-1/4" diameter x 3" tall, with piped, removable lid. The identification is engraved on the body of the pot sample, "Pratt and Lambert, Varnish Makers". The Pratt & Lambert company started in Buffalo, New York in 1849 as a maker of a drying agent for linseed oil paint.
