The 33’ blade is lightly decorated with cannon and flowers for about 1/3 the blade. The large counter guard exhibits deep relief motifs of a seated Columbia holding the American shield, beside a spread winged eagle. Sleek open mouthed eagle head pommel has delineated feathers. the fluted bone grip is intact. VG, no scabbard. These swords were often Mexican War used.
