Newspaper, Gentleman’s magazine, November 1787, 96pp., disbound, VG. From an interior page and running three pages is a printing of the United States Constitution from the Preamble through Article 1. Also included is George Washington’s letter, signed in type, of September 17, 1787 introducing the Constitution. In part, "We have now the honour to submit to the consideration of the United States in Congress assembled, that Constitution which has appeared to us the most advisable..." This is followed by the familiar preamble, “We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union....establish this constitution for the United States of America.” Then, a complete printing of Article 1. ... plus, Newspaper, Gentleman’s magazine, December 1787, 96pp., disbound, VG. from the interior and running three pages, a balance of the United States Constitution is printed from Article 2 through Article VII. Of course this is signed in type by George Washington.
