Manuscript Document Signed “R. Stuart Lt. Colo.” 1pp. folio, on fine laid paper, December 26, 1783, and reads in part: “...I Sir Robert Stuart Baronet a reduced Major in the late 77th Regiment of Foot or Athol Highlanders Commanded by Major General James Murray do hereby constitute and Appoint John Bushell of the Invalid Office...my true and lawful Attorney...to receive from the Right Honorable Edmund Burke Paymaster General of His Majestys Forces...all such Half Pay as now is or shall hereafter become due to me as a Reduced major...” Minor repair at far right margin, else very good condition.
