This extremely rare William H. Harrison campaign ribbon was produced for the New England Whig Convention, September 10-11, 1840 in Brookline. The printed silk ribbon has an engraved image of the Bunker Hill Monument, an engraved framed portrait of Harrison, and an engraved image of Harrison's birth cabin. The silk is salmon, occasional minor stains and loose at borders, tiny hole at left bottom, 3-3/4" x 8." Rarely will you find an actual William Henry Harrison campaign item. The Bunker Hill Monument is the first public obelisk erected in the United States. The 221-foot granite obelisk erected between 1827 and 1843 in Charlestown, Massachusetts with granite quarried in Quincy, Massachusetts and conveyed to the site by the first railway in the United States, built specially for that purpose.
