Autograph Letter Signed, “Isaac Briggs” 1p. quarto, Savannah, Georgia, November 8, 1785, with integral leaf addressed to merchant Alexander Semple at Fort William, Cumberland Isle, and reads in part: “...Inclosed you have a bill drawn by Don Pedro Bazquez, the Spanish commodore at St. Mary’s, for seventy four dollars, which I wish you would endeavor to obtain or recover and remit me...both that of the net proceeds of those two hogsheads Rum, left with you last Spring, one of West India containing 105 Gallons the other of New England containing 121 Gallons....I have the honor to inform you that his Excellency General Green arrived a few days ago, with his family at Mulbery-Grove, his plantation, about eight or ten miles from Savannah up the River...” VG.
