Book Titled, “Regulations for the Order and Disiplines of the Troops of the United States,” by Baron de Stuben, 1794, Exeter, Boston, by Henry Ranlet and Thomas Andres, 91pp., 4-1/4” x 6-1/2”, VG. The eight Copperplate illustrations are clean, strongly engraved. He served as inspector general and major general of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Stuben is credited with being one of the fathers of the Continental Army in teaching them the essentials of military drills, tactics, and disciplines. “Regulations for the Order and Discipline of the Troops of the United States served as the standard United States drill manual until the War of 1812.
