War-date Confederate document signed by General Birkett Davenport Fry, 1pp. oblong folio, Augusta, Georgia, November 11, 1864, for "Patient's in Black's Hospital" Fine condition. FRY, Birkett (1822-1891) was an adventurer, soldier, lawyer, cotton manufacturer, and a Confederate general in the American Civil War. A survivor of four battle wounds, he commanded one of the lead brigades during Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg.
