Broadside, National Galaxy, printed by J. Howe, Boston, engraved by N. Dearborn, entered according to Act of Congress, 1843 by J. Greenleaf, 28- x 21-, ornate black & white border, minor roughness at margins only. Handsome presentaion of the first ten presidents with engraved image and biography of each. Interesting that Andrew Jackson is shown with eyeglasses. This broadside is especially unique in that each of the 10 portraits were printed separately and then mounted in the proper place on the broadside sheet bearing the presidents biographies. This process ensured that the publisher could achieve a life like image of the subjects far superior to alternate method using woodblock engravings.
