War-date Union soldier's Autograph Letter Signed by Henry A. Wiley, 104th New York Vols, 3pp. quarto, Near Kelly Ford, Virginia, December 20, 1863, and reads in part: "...in regard to you coming to Washington and seeing some of your friends there and procure their assistance to help me get authority for myself and Capt. Fisher to raise a Light Battery, or a company of Heavy Artillery. I have since concluded to associate with Capt. Fisher and myself Lieut Chester of the 94th NYS Vols. We are confident that we can raise one hundred men from the two regts at least and perhaps more...I for one am determined to get out of this regt and so is Capt. Fisher. I have also written to Brigadier Gen. Duryea for a letter of recommendation..." More. Very good condition.
