Newspaper, Harpers Weekly, July 22, 1865, 16pp., complete issue, disbound. From an interior page, full page horizontal engraving, ""Execution of the Conspirators at Washington, July 7, 1865 -[Photographed by Gardner, Washington.]," shows the four hanging from the gallows. And on the facing page, several related engravings, "Execution of the Conspirators--Clergymen Officiating on the Scaffold" "Execution of the Conspirators--Adjusting the Rope" and "Execution of the Conspirators--Springing of the Trap" which shows the condemned on the scaffold, including Harold, Atzerott, Payne and Mrs. Surratt. There are also prints of "Lewis Payne" "David Harold" & "J.W. Atzerott" as well as a small print of: "The Late Residence of Mrs. Surratt...".
