Winfield Scott Edgerly (1846-1927). Graduated from US Military Academy in the Class of 1870. Appointed 2nd Lt, 7th US Cavalry, on 15 June 1870. In the Sioux Campaign of 1876, surviving the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Fought at Wounded Knee Creek, Dec 1890. Served in Texas 1892-95. National Guard Instructor, Concord NH, 1897-98. Appointed Brig. General on 28 June 1905. Commanded the Cavalry School, Fort Riley, Kansas, from 1907 until his retirement in Dec 1909. Recalled to active duty in WWI, he commanded the mobilization camp in Concord, NH, 26 July to 17 Sept 1917. This Edgerly grouping consists of documents photographs.
