Burwell" 2pp. folio, being his version of "Root, Hog or Die" and reads in part: "...I am just from the south and I bring all the news/ I am worth half a dollar, square in my shoes/ But it makes no difference to either you or I/ Big pig or little pig must root hog or die...I am the easiest nigger that every you did see/ I am like a sick monkey up a sour apple tree/ O where I died there let me lie/ Down in Old Virginia where its root hog or die....The Presidential election has now passed by/ And to gain a president each party did try/ Buchanan was elected and between you and I/The other two will have to go root hog or die..." Fine condition.
