c. 1890, Grand Army of the Republic, Ex: Civil War Veterans, Commemorative Hooked Rug, Choice Extremely Fine. Hand Made, 27" x 58" red, gold, green, gray, brown and orange-colored rug with patriotic imagery on both sides. Center piece features a heraldic eagle atop a flag and a five-pointed star. A sailing ship on the left side and a scene with foliage on the right side, surrounded by borders with yellow, red and white stars. Threads are worn along the edges, but are largely complete within the body of the rug. Toned with age overall, but still bright.
