Cabinet Card Photograph shows a dozens tepees taken at Standing Rock Agency below Fort Yates, circa 1888. The front of the mount has ID “Sitting Bull’s Camp” and also identifies the photographer, “Barry, Bismark, Dak,” the reverse also has the Baryy identification. A pencil notation on the reverse references the image. The image has a warm sepia tone, strong contrast, clear focus and has a defect in the foreground which is in the negative.. It is during this period that Sitting Bull became involved in the Ghost Dance, an efort to call on a messiah to save the natives from the whites.
