Lieutenant-General Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell, OM, GCMG, GCVO, KCB, DL (1857-1941), was a British Army officer, writer, founder and first Chief Scout of the world-wide Boy Scout Movement, and founder, with his sister Agnes, of the world-wide Girl Guide / Girl Scout Movement. Baden-Powell authored the first editions of the seminal work Scouting for Boys, which was an inspiration for the Scout Movement.Agnes Smyth Baden-Powell (1858-1945) was the younger sister of Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell, and was most noted for her work in establishing the Girl Guide movement as a female counterpart to her older brother's Scouting Movement. Agnes was born in Paddington, London.Two autographs “RSS Baden Powell”, each on separate sheet; one dated August 14, 1906 with a sketch of a man; the other on imprinted tab, 94 Piccadilly W. ... plus, two autograph letters Signed “Anes Baden Powell”, the first 4pp., April 20, 1884 in which she refers to her brother Robert. In part, “It is nice for Baden that his profession takes him so much into the open air country. he is now at Aldirshot ... set his men to pack, unpack & fill out his balloon. On Easter Moday he made a short voyage over the river in it. ...”; The second letter, 4pp., October 22, 1905 to her aunt with family topics.
