Frank Tedrow, 11th Indiana Infantry, KIA Vicksburg, 3p. octavo, March 27, 1862, Crumps Landing, Tennessee, with cover, in part: “...Well we have had no fight yet...I see the cursed abolisionist in Congress is raking up the negro question again I wish I had the power to kill everyone of them. I would soon put a stop to abolisionism. I enlisted to put down this rebellion not to free negroes whenever it comes to that they can consider me out fo the fight. I hope there wont be nothing of it if they do try to free the negroes the Union is gone up forever...” VG.
